Pastor Russell Harbaugh and family moved here March 4th, 2007 to be the current pastor here at Aurora Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Russ graduated from Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs, CO in June of 2006. He currently holds a degree in Pastoral Ministries, Bible/Theology and Christian Counseling. Pastor Russ is currently in the process of earning his Master's Degree in Missional Leadership. Pastor Russ has been married to Charyl since 1991 and they have two boys, Daniel (14), and Brandon (12). This is Pastor Russ' first church and he is excited to have the opportunity to serve such a great group of people and live in this wonderful community. It is pastor Russ' passion to not only serve this local church but to also be a friend and a good neighbor to all those who call Aurora home. Pastor Russ loves all kinds of sports and family activities as well as a good movie, board game, book, etc. :-) You will find Pastor Russ at most local ball games, on the front row of Friday night Drive-in movies and working with Habitat for Humanity. Since moving to Aurora, Pastor Russ has Substitute taught at all of the local schools. Pastor Russ has been a Homeless Prevention Housing Specialist at OACAC (Ozark Area Community Action Corporation), and is currently workng as a Service Coordinator for the Developmentally Disabled of Lawrence County. He is also a regular on Facebook, Twitter, and of course Fantasy Football where he finished in the bottom three last year, but is #1 so far this season! Pastor Russ has continued his passion for learning by training in Pre-Marital Counseling through Life Innovations Prepare/Enrich program, taking 36 hours of Suicide hotline training, and taking classes in Hospice care. (By the way, this picture was probably the last time he was caught in a suit!
